The vibrant cultural centre of Eindhoven

Chill out, relax or simply unwind. It’s important and occasionally absolutely essential. From S-West, you can go off in all directions or just stick around in Strijp-S. At the Music Building and Park Theatre, Eindhoven welcomes big names in cabaret, theatre, ballet, dance, opera, classical and contemporary music.

At Strijp-S itself, lots of cultural venues that provide fascinating entertainment have sprung up. Strijp-S is often the headquarters or plays host to renowned cultural events such as Dutch Design Week, Glow, King-S, Emoves – Urban Culture Event and Feel Good Market. All year round, each and every day, without fail, Strijp-S is a bustling place to be.

The Clock Building, PopEi, Gebouw 52 and the charming auditorium at the Blue Collar Hotel are excellent stages where artists, bands or stand-up comics are keen to perform. Strijp-S also offers ample openings for urban culture and cabaret.

Exercise, greenery and the great outdoors

If you want to work yourself up into nice sweat or go all out Zen, then you can pop into one of the various gyms or yoga centres or take part in one of the many outdoor workouts, master classes or boot camps. You won’t have to go far for some greenery either. Away from the delightfully spacious courtyard behind Benjamin, Maria, Frederik and Frits, lies the Philips De Jong Wandelpark, where you’ll also find PSV’s training complex, ‘De Herdgang’. If you yearn for even more green surroundings, you can head for the Genneper Parks, the Stadswandelpark, the Philips Van Lennepark or the leafy campus of the University of Technology.

Eating out or just grabbing a drink

Strijp-S boasts lots of places to eat or drink and they are often authentic and edgy. Pure and fresh with a predilection for local and regional produce. For instance, on the ground floor of the Veemgebouw, you will find a food court which will soon have you licking your fingers. The Vershal Het Veem is the place to go for snacks that you can enjoy with your friends or family. Or why not simply pop into Bagels & Juice, Het Ketelhuis, Radio Royaal or ’t Koffiehuisje?

Besides restaurants such as the Starlight Lounge, Intelligentia ICE, de Pastryclub, La Vita è Bella, De kookfabriek or Wynwoord you can also enjoy an uncomplicated cup of soup at Soappa or walk a little further to the Michelin star restaurant Avant-Garde at the PSV stadium.
